Protecting your local environment for over forty years.
Since
1957, the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association has been the leader
in protecting the open space of the Wissahickon Valley, in enhancing its
water quality, and in educating people of all ages about environmental
concerns. During this time, WVWA, a non-profit conservation group, has
preserved hundreds of scenic acres for future generations, and has
worked to ensure prudent management of the natural resources throughout
the Wissahickon watershed.
Kane Core Has Withdrawn Their Application
18-Oct-05
The public comment portion of the Ambler Borough Council public
hearing was cut short when council President Sal Pasceri stated that
an independent study commissioned by the council had shown the
17-story high rise project was not economically feasible. Pasceri
went on to say "However, the matter does not require further
consideration, and there will not be public comment this evening,
because Kane Core has withdrawn their application."

Area
Ambler’s hidden asset - time to pull it together
This autumn the Wissahickon Valley Watershed Association (WVWA)
expects to complete its acquisition of the Wissahickon Waterfowl
Preserve, a 15-acre site on Maple Ave three blocks from downtown Ambler.
WVWA has been pursuing purchase of the Preserve because of its
importance to the community in two areas:
- It unites the Ambler Conservation Area
- It protects a sanctuary for waterfowl

Ambler’s Maple Avenue
Reservoir Designated as Important Bird Area
The Pennsylvania
Ornithological Technical Committee (OTC), Audubon Pennsylvania, and the
National Audubon Society have named a site just outside the Borough of
Ambler as an Important Bird Area. The designation applies to the old
reservoir on Maple Avenue and the preserved open space near it, and
means that several Pennsylvania species of special concern (PA state
endangered, threatened, at risk, or rare) and many species of waterfowl
and other birds use that particular site for breeding and resting during
migration. WVWA will create a preserve on this site to be known as the
Wissahickon Waterfowl Preserve.
